Well it is Christmas Eve, the lights are a glowing, the presents are under the tree, the kids are excited and still playing outside in the drive.
We have just returned home from a lovely evening dinner at our friends' Kathryn and Andy, along with Liz and Grant and all our kids to say Merry Christmas and uttered the usual "Where on an earth has this year gone" mutterings and wished each other a Merry Christmas.
Christmas to me is all about reflecting on the year that was, appreciating what we have, hoping for the year that is ahead and being together.

The cat is waiting for santa!
May all that reads this have a happy Christmas, to my relatives whom I have never met in Ireland and England know that my wish is to meet you all one day and embrace the fact that we all originated from one being and that my sister and I will one day make it happen that we meet and truly appreciate each others company and our origins.
To everyone else, have a really good day, take the time to think about what you have and appreciate every precious moment of it for all too soon it can seem like a distant memory.
Eat lots and be merry, it is one day when the worries of the world can be cast aside and we can fully immerse in our own self indulgence and be thankful that we can.
As I sign off, one son is playing happily on the keyboard, my daughter is laughing uncontrollably at some inane comment by her friend Katya that lives across the road and the other son is desperate for me to log off the computer so he can wrap up the screen I am staring at for his brother for Xmas and replace it with a bigger version we have purchased to replace it with.
