Thomas 2nd in his 100mtr sprint heat.

Toby won his 100m sprint heat.

100mtr sprint final, Thomas 2nd, Toby 4th (just!)
This was the 12th time I have been to watch Athletics day at their primary school, my first one was in 1997 with Katie as a 5 year old! The end of an era for me really with the boys moving on to High School next year. Then you don't go and spectate at any sporting events, either you are not invited or they just tell you it isn't for parents because they don't want you there, I haven't worked out which yet!

Thomas in long jump - he got 2nd

Toby in long jump, he got 3rd.
Both boys did very well, with a few 1sts, 2nds and 3rds, they will go on to represent their school in the zone athletics championships in a couple of weeks time.
I spent most of the day helping out by doing the recording at the Senior Shot Put as there are fewer support staff at school on a Friday and they were short of helpers. So I really only got to see the sprints and long jump and of course the shot put.
Al spent most of yesterday in the garden, I cleaned the BBQ (YUK!), Thomas sat his grade 1 music theory exam on Saturday, Toby went on a Scout trek yesterday up round the port hills and Katie finished her English assignment to gain some more credits towards her NCEA qualification. She has exams at the end of November so finishes school next week and starts study leave.
This time in 4 weeks I will be in Sydney, hopefully relaxing with a great coffee from somewhere! I'm bound to find some within hours of arriving you can guarantee that!
