The social club at the school where I work, decided that no staff member was allowed to wear black today. They had a colourful morning tea, with rainbow icing on little cakes, cheese cakes with coloured jellies on top, colourful sweets and numerous other things, and some sparkling red grape juice in glasses with coloured straws. It was fabulous.
It was a "no doom and gloom day".
Gee that was going to be a tough one for me because most of my winter wardrobe is black. Not that I wear all black head to toe, I do put a bit of colour with it, or white, but mostly black.
I had a brainwave and decided that rather than trying to piece together an outfit of colour that had no black pants, skirt or jacket, and would probably look hideous, and mismatched, I would hire a clown suit and don a silly wig and go like that! Yip, and you are right, as if that didn't look hideous!
The kids loved it, I was nice and colourful and not a black item of clothing anywhere on my body, except for mascara!
Only, there was a funny thing. I walked into the kitchen that morning all dressed up, Al and the boys were at the breakfast bar eating their weetbix, they looked up and they looked down and said nothing! I broke the silence by turning my back to them and saying "does my bum look big in this?" Thomas quietly replied......... "you'd better get Dad to answer that" Such comedians all of them!
