Then we painted the garage door and downpipe and ripped the trees out and the front lawn up.

Weekend after weekend Al and the boys tried desperately by hand to dig up the dirt and roots that seemed to go on for miles, succombing each Sunday night to blisters and sore backs. Eventually Al hired a digger and spend the day happy as a clam gouging up the clay/dirt far enough down so he could lay a decent level of topsoil.

The topsoil went down, and then Al built a planter box at one end.

Then we planted hedging plants along the front of the garage to tie in with what I have in front of the dining room window.

The ready lawn was purchased and waited in the garage out of the sun.

The first roll is ready to go down.

All laid and already covered in leaves from the now autumnal council trees out the front!

Yay, mission completed! I just need to decide what to plant along the front of the garage and in the planter box. But hey, there is no hurry, lets just let the neighbours get over the excitement of seeing something other than dirt down there!
