Where did that fortnight go?

Well how time flies when you are busy!

Last Tuesday Thomas had his cast removed after being in it for 5 weeks, he has to wait another 5 weeks before he can participate in any form of contact sport, ride a bike, scooter etc and by golly he has that marked on the counter. He has worked out he can play rugby again on Saturday 2nd August and get 2 games in before the semi final on the 16th. Determined young man!

Katie had her braces removed last Friday. She has an over bite and the only way to fix that is jaw surgery after she is 18 and something that is not necessary except for cosmetic reasons. (and something we wont be doing) She has only 10 teeth in her smaller top jaw so the orthodontist moved 6 of the teeth to become her front teeth and straightened them all and then left a gap then 2 molars on each side. While her smile is dominated by her lower teeth the top ones are lovely and straight now. She is happy to have the braces off and will not miss the ulcers she has suffered for the past 22 months!

Who ever said that the cat can get up on the table? Not me, but of course when I am not watching who lets him up there? Al! Grrrrr naughty Possum and naughty Al!

Toby has been practicing his drums every day because his school's choir is in a festival tomorrow night, Thomas is singing in it, and Toby is playing the drums in their final piece which is sung in Swahili along with his tutor on the bongos and another boy on the woodblock. I am looking foward to attending and hope the choir sings nice and loud so the drums don't drown them out!

Well that is about all I have time for tonight, it is only 17 days until Katie leaves for World Youth Day in Sydney, so we plan to try packing her bag/s this weekend to see just how much room there is and whether we need 2 suitcases or not. There is a lot to fit in when you have to take a sleeping bag and an air mattress as well! I read today about the route the Pope's motorcade and boatacade will be taking when he arrives in Sydney on Thursday 17th July, and how many central Sydney workers will be caught up in delays all week getting to and from work, might be a good week for them to take leave as can only imagine how frustrating that will be for them!
