Well, here we are I'm having a go at this Blogging thing. After spending the last 2 years tuning into the lives via blogs, of those I know and those I don't around the globe, I have decided to try my hand at my own. It almost seemed wrong to peek in on the lives of so many people and yet share nothing of my own life. I guess we all think, "who would be interested" but it was the link to my cousins blog that changed all that.
I have religiously checked in on the lives of "The three little Myttons" via a link from a friends blog and even met them several times now, and "Jarvis Tahi" via a link from the previous. "Megans rant of the day" had me smiling each time I checked in, until life got too busy and the author migrated to facebook. Recently my sister sent me the link to my cousins newly created blog in Ireland and I have checked into her life and that of her family. This is what has finally prompted me to start my own.
You see I have never met any of my Father's family, neither have any of my sisters. My father died 9 years ago and he hadn't seen his family since he imigrated to NZ in the 1940's. There are only two of his siblings left now and many cousins and second cousins and the only correspondence over the years has been between my sister and cousin Eileen. While the chance to travel to the other side of the world seems rather remote in the near future, I hope we can start some sort of communication to pave the way for a meeting one day.
So my profile photo shows my family and I. Katie is on the left and she has just turned 16. My husband of 20 years Al is next and me on the end. In front on the left is Thomas and beside him Toby. They are twins and will turn 13 in August.
Now I will go away and read up the instructions on how to drive this blog properly.
